This guide provides instructions for setting up the Turnitin LTI tool within your Brightspace course.
- To begin setting up Turnitin for an assignment, click Content from your course's navbar.
- Then, locate the unit where you wish to place the assignment and select the Add Existing button.
- Select Turnitin.
- A pop-up window will appear where you can create a new assignment and configure the settings for the Turnitin submission.
- For convenience, you can save your configured settings for future assignments by checking the Save these settings for future use box.
The system will automatically generate a gradebook item if one doesn't already exist. If you have previously created a gradebook item, you'll need to link it to the newly created Turnitin assignment.
Important Note: Creating an assignment through this method generates a new course within Turnitin. If the course already exists in Turnitin, this process will create a separate course instance, resulting in two distinct courses for the same class. According to Turnitin's technical support, this is the intended functionality, and there is currently no method to merge or link these separate courses.
