Submitting Academic Alerts

  1. Sign in to Okta at aurorauniversity.okta.com.
  2. Launch the Self-Service app from the Okta dashboard.
  3. Select the Faculty category.

  4. Select the course to submit retention information.

  5. Hover your cursor over the student who should receive the alert and click View Full Profile.

  6. Verify the student is the intended student who should receive the alert, then select Contribute Retention Information.

  7. Select one Type of Issue:
    1. Has Stopped Attending Class
    2. Has Missing Assignments
    3. Not Using Necessary Technology (Brightspace, Email)
    4. Has Suddenly Declined Academically
    5. Performs Poorly on Quizzes, Tests, Assignments
    6. Other (Please Elaborate Below)*
      • If your alert is not academic in nature and requires support from Student Life,
        submit a Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) Report instead: SpartanNet
      • If you need to report an academic integrity violation, submit a Behavioral
        Intervention Team (BIT) Report instead: SpartanNet
  8. Enter the Course Information for your class in the Summary field.
    • Course Number, Section Number, Location, and Term
    • Example: BUS-1020-01 AUR 22/SU
  9. Provide additional information regarding the nature of your alert. The student is the recipient of your alert.
  10. When all fields are completed, select Save to submit your alert.
