Okta Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

What is Multi-Factor Authentication?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an authentication method that requires multiple verifications before allowing access to a resource such as an account or application. While your password counts as one form of verification, it can become compromised. MFA adds an extra layer of security by sending a verification code or push notification to your mobile device to verify that you are the legitimate user attempting to sign in.

Why Use MFA?

MFA helps secure your account and data. If someone obtains your password, you will receive an alert that you can decline if you did not initiate the login attempt. This allows you to maintain control of your account and update your password before any unauthorized access occurs.

Installing Okta Verify

  1. Download the Okta Verify app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store on your primary mobile device.
