Okta App Overview for Students

Okta Single Sign-On (SSO) provides students with convenient access to all essential academic and campus applications through a single login. After signing in to Okta using your AU username and password, you can access all available university applications from the Okta dashboard. Each application appears as a tile on your dashboard. This guide describes the purpose and features of each app.

Academic SupportNet

Academic SupportNet offers academic assistance services from university staff. Students can register for various support programs including writing support, academic coaching, and tutoring services.

Atrium Connect

Atrium Connect is the Spartan Dining and ID Portal. Students can add funds to their accounts, set up meal plans, and grant guest access to trusted individuals for account management. Using Atrium Connect, students can also deactivate lost or stolen IDs.

Brightspace

Brightspace functions as Aurora University's Learning Management System for courses. Students can access current and past course enrollments, submit homework assignments, complete quizzes, and take exams. 

eRezLife

The eRezLife portal allows students to set up campus housing and communicate with the team that oversees Student Life on campus.

Focus2

Focus2 assists students in career exploration and academic planning. After completing an assessment, students receive a report highlighting their strengths and areas for development, along with recommended career paths and academic majors aligned with their interests and abilities.

Handshake

Handshake features job postings and internship opportunities, helping students transition from academic study to professional employment, relevant to their fields of study.

KnowBe4

KnowBe4 provides students with cybersecurity training. This platform educates students on current security best practices, helping protect personal and academic data from cyber threats. Training covers essential topics for maintaining security of financial accounts, social media, and other digital assets.

Microsoft Office 365 Apps 

  • Forms: Create surveys and collect data.
  • Office Portal: Access all included Microsoft apps from the Office 365 portal.
  • OneDrive: Store and share files securely using cloud storage.
  • Outlook Mail: Send and receive emails from Aurora University email through Outlook's web-based email client.

Phillips Library

Phillips Library provides direct access to Aurora University's library services webpage. Students can communicate with a librarian via chat, find the library hours of operation, reserve a study room, and access research assistance. 

Self-Service 

Self-Service provides students with academic and financial management capabilities. Students can register for courses within their degree programs, access financial information with integrated payment processing, view account statements and tax documentation, view grades by academic term, and submit graduation applications.

SpartanHealth Student Portal

SpartanHealth is the Student Health Portal students use to update vaccination records and view submitted health documents. Students can also send secure messages to a registered nurse, and schedule appointments for Health Services.

SpartanNet Student Intranet

SpartanNet is Aurora University's intranet for students. Students can discover information including campus events, locate student organizations and groups, and access important resources including mental health services, safety violation reporting, and Title IX resources.

Student Account Online Payment Center

The payment portal enables students to make tuition payments and view account statement balances. Students can authorize parents or other trusted individuals to make payments on their behalf.

Timely Care

Timely Care provides students with convenient access to mental health and wellness resources. Through this platform, students can schedule counseling sessions, access health coaching services, and explore self-care content designed to support overall well-being.

Turnitin

Turnitin is utilized for academic integrity purposes when required by course instructors. Students submit papers through Turnitin for plagiarism detection and AI writing detection. To enroll in a course from Turntin, the course instructor must provide the enrollment key.

VMock

VMock is an AI-powered resume development tool. The platform evaluates submitted resumes and and offers specific recommendations for improvement, helping students create competitive resumes for internships and employment opportunities.

Zendesk ITS Help

Zendesk serves as Aurora University's Information Technology Services (ITS) ticketing system. Students can submit requests for technology-related issues to receive assistance from ITS staff.

Zoom Meetings

Zoom Meetings enables students to create virtual meetings, supporting remote collaboration.
