Okta FAQ

What is Okta?

Okta is a single sign-on (SSO) platform that provides secure, centralized access to Aurora University's services through a dashboard. After signing in to Okta, you can access your email, course materials, and other university resources without needing to log in to each application separately.

To protect your account, Okta requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) as an additional layer of security. For more information about MFA, refer to the Okta Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) guide.

How do I reset my password?

A detailed guide with instructions for changing your password is available: How do I Reset My Password?

What is the Okta browser plugin?

The Okta Browser Plugin securely transfers login credentials to various AU services. You can download and install it on your computer's browser—Chrome and Firefox are recommended.

Why am I unable to log in?

Verify that the URL is entered correctly. The URL is https://aurorauniversity.okta.com/. If the URL is misspelled, you will be directed to a login screen with a blank background instead of the official page, which displays a campus image in the background. The correct login page should appear as shown in the image below.
