The Quiz Questions Converter is a tool that takes text and converts it into a CSV format so that you can import questions into your Questions Library within your course. Enroll in the Brightspace Quiz Questions Converter Course
- To access the Quiz Converter tool, self-enroll into the course by accessing Brightspace, then clicking Discover from your homepage navbar.
- Select the Quiz Question Converter course.
- Click the Enroll in Course button.
- You will receive a pop-up confirmation that you are enrolled in the course.
- To find the course, navigate to the "My Courses" widget on your Brightspace homepage, or click on the waffle icon.
- Once you are within the Quiz Question Converter course, click Content from the course navbar.
- A unit called "Quiz Question Converter" displays. To view the Quiz Questions Converter tool, click on the unit to expand it.
- After clicking on the tool, a box you can paste or type your questions in becomes available. Each question is formatted differently.
Question Format Examples
- For true and false, enter the question on a single line and the answer on the following line.

- For multiple choice questions, enter the questions on a single line and the response choice on the following lines. Each choice needs to be on its own line, with the correct answer including an asterisk * in front of the answer.

- For multiple select questions, enter the question on a single line, and the response choice on the following lines. Each choice needs to be on its own line with the correct answers including asterisks * in front of them.

- For written response questions, enter the question on a single line, and leave the following line blank. You will not type a response choice for these types of question. These question types cannot be auto graded.

- For short answer questions, enter the question on a single line, but add the initials "SA" with one space before the question, leaving the following line blank. You should not enter a response for these types of questions. These question types cannot be auto graded.

- For matching questions, enter the question on a single line, and add the word "match" with one space before the question. Each response needs to be on its own line, but the choice and its correct answer should be separated with a forward slash (/). Ensure there is one space on either side of the slash. The choices and options are randomized.

In this example the last sound "Neigh" does not have correspond to an animal, leaving 4 choices with only 3 correct answers.

- For ordering type questions, enter the word order before the question with one space, then list the answers in the correct order with each answer on its own line. The order is randomized when viewing the questions in the quiz.

- If you want to add feedback to any true or false question on separate lines, add T@@ for feedback if the response choice is true, or F@@ if the response choice is false.

- If you want to add feedback to any multiple choice, multi-select or ordering questions, add two @@ symbols followed by the feedback under the response choice on its own line.

Once you have finished adding questions, configure the point total, and then click the Convert button.
After the conversion is complete, which may take some time depending on how many questions you add, you will automatically download the CSV to be used for the import.
