Professors regularly use course announcements as a primary communication channel with students. To ensure you receive all important updates, it is recommended that you enable announcement notifications.
Pulse App
- When you first install and log into the Pulse app, you will receive a prompt to enable notifications. This is the most immediate way to stay informed of new announcements.
- If you initially declined notifications, you can enable them later through the Settings menu from the “Notification Options” section. Tap Push Notifications. You can also choose to adjust your Email Notifications from here.
- Toggle on the notifications you choose to receive, including the "New Announcement Available" notification setting.
Brightspace
- When accessing Brightspace from a computer, a notification badge will appear on the notifications icon throughout the platform in the upper right corner, indicating there are new updates.
- Clicking the icon will display all your notifications, including course announcements.
- To receive course notifications via your AU email address, click your name or Brightspace profile icon, then select Notifications from the drop-down menu.
- You will be redirected to the Notifications page.
- Configure your notifications as desired.
- You will begin receiving email notifications based on your selections.
