Zoom Recording a Lecture or Live Session

This tutorial will walk you through recording a lecture or live session. You may save this video/audio recording directly to Zoom, or you may store the video on your computer and host it elsewhere such as Youtube or OneDrive.

 

Step 1:

* This tutorial requires the zoom application and a current zoom meeting session. For information installing the Zoom application, Click Here! To start a Zoom meeting session, Click Here!

In the Zoom application, hover over "Record" on the bottom right.

Step 2:

Select "Record on this Computer" or "Record to the Cloud". This is entirely up to you.

Record on this Computer:

Step 1:

Once you click on "Record on this computer" a small status bar will appear in the top left of the zoom application. The video/audio is now recording.

Step 2:

If you wish to pause thee video, you may click the "Pause" button on the screen, or if you are finished with your recording, you may click "Stop".

Step 3:

When the video has been "Stopped" a small notification will populate on the top right of your screen notifying you that the video will be converted to an mp4/mp3 when the meeting ends.

Step 4:

To end the meeting click "End Meeting" in the lower right corner of the application:

Then click "End Meeting for All"

Step 5:

A window will appear notifying you of the status of the recording.

When the recording has finished, the files associated with the recording will be displayed. The file labeled "Audio only" will contain only the audio for the recording, while the one named "Zoom_#" is the video and audio recording

Record to the Cloud

Step 1:

Once you click on "Record on this computer" a small status bar will appear in the top left of the zoom application. The video/audio is now recording.

Step 2:

If you wish to pause thee video, you may click the "Pause" button on the screen, or if you are finished with your recording, you may click "Stop".

Step 3:

Upon stopping the recording, you will be asked to confirm the end of the recording click"Yes"

When the video has been "Stopped" a small notification will populate on the top right of your screen notifying you that the video is being processed and when it is done, an email will be sent to you.

Step 4:

To end the meeting click "End Meeting" in the lower right corner of the application:

Then click "End Meeting for All"

The video will now take some time to process. An email will be sent to you when it is done. To learn how to share your cloud recording, Click Here!
