The switcher is a box located in the podium that allows presenters to quickly switch inputs between the podium computer, the document camera, and a laptop
On the newer blue podiums, the switcher is a bit larger and uses HDMI. It is located in a small shelf just below the table top. Input 1, labled PC in the image below, is for the podium computer. Input 2 is for the document camera, and input 3 is for the external hdmi input, which is typically used for laptops.
The document camera input is not necessary for most newer podiums that have the hovercams. To learn more about how to use the hovercams, see our documentation here: Hovercam Document Cameras
- Please ensure the green power switch (located on the left) is set to the on position.
On most of the other podiums, the switcher uses VGA, but looks quite similar. It is located inside the podium near the top of the cabinet.
When using any input switcher:
- Please do not turn the switcher off. This will not turn off the computer.
- Please remember to switch back to input 1 at the end of your class/presentation
- Please ensure the green power switch is set to the on position
